As a surprise for the parents’ wedding anniversary these two sisters did a photo session in my Marlton, New Jersey Studio. They laughed and giggled while “playing model” on several photography backdrops as well as utilizing the outdoor studio scene. You could see the love they shared as siblings. When I photograph babies, I do not like to “rush” the session so we will get the best results for a heirloom portrait. This little 3 month old baby slept, whimpered, ate and giggled through her session so patience was the key element. Her smiles are just the best so sweet! Really enjoyed creating images of these siblings for their First Communion Photography Session in our Marlton, New Jersey Studio.

My Marlton, New Jersey Studio was a perfect place to photograph this little girl’s First Communion Photo Session. I believe that these milestone sessions are very important and should not be rushed. Different backdrops and lighting techniques are used to give several “looks” to the images. Many times the image resembles a painted style. Children at this age are usually around 7 to 8 and patience is the key to a great photo. The kids really enjoy “playing model” and the last image taken is a pose that I let them create. Most times they let “off steam” and do something silly!

These parents were so wonderful with their sweet little boy. It was such a cold and windy day in Moorestown, New Jersey that the baby was shivering and just wanted to go back into the car. I suggested that they “play” with him instead of trying to make him look into the camera and the magic happened. He proceed to share his apples one at a time and paddle in the little canoe. It was so much fun to see him in motion! I love the interaction between parents and their children, moments not to be forgotten.

Coming from a large family of eight kids, I know the importance of capturing “the gang” all together. These two sisters reached out to me expressing that they wanted to give this family photography session as a present to their father who was celebrating his 70th birthday. What a precious gift… not just another shirt, tie or gift certificate but something with a very personal value. I can always remember the joy on my mother’s face when she saw that her eight children had secretly had a portrait created for her birthday. Although it was not a surprise gift for him, I hoped their dad would feel the same joy. We all met at Barclay Farmstead in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and they shared laughs and hugs through out the whole photo shoot. You could see the love they had for each other. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your celebration!!!

I have the pleasure of photographing this family for many years, starting with the parent’s wedding and special highlights in the children’s lives. Their father owns a Extreme Karate & Fitness in Huntingdon Valley, Pa and every year I do school pictures of all the students so I have seen these girls be warriors as well as little princesses. My Studio in Marlton, New Jersey provided a great location for the Communion Photography Session and of course her older sister participates in the pictures too! I always let the kids be silly in a few images which shows true personalities and relaxes them. Always fun times with the Leibert Family!
