The assignment was to photograph five gentlemen in a formal business headshot style in my Marlton, New Jersey Studio. Although the blue backdrop remains the same, it is easy to see each of their individual personalities. Our motto: Be Recognized, Be Yourself.

My Marlton, New Jersey Studio was a perfect place to photograph this little girl’s First Communion Photo Session. I believe that these milestone sessions are very important and should not be rushed. Different backdrops and lighting techniques are used to give several “looks” to the images. Many times the image resembles a painted style. Children at this age are usually around 7 to 8 and patience is the key to a great photo. The kids really enjoy “playing model” and the last image taken is a pose that I let them create. Most times they let “off steam” and do something silly!

I always loved photographing families in their home with a photojournalism approach. Seeing the interaction between baby and parents including smiles, frowns and tears is just priceless. Although many families opt for the sleeping newborn poses curled on little studio props, there is something to be said for the “little older baby” with such a personality!!! And don’t forget the “fur babies” who creep into the photos too!

Birthdays are a “Special Event” to be celebrated. So this Birthday of 100 years is such a milestone! Family and friends traveled from around the country to shared this event with their loved one. Not only was she a daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend but also just a beautiful person! I was honored to share this party as their photographer at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, New Jersey. This party was filled with laughter, hugs, toasts, stories and best of wishes. Happy 100th Birthday and many more!!!

These parents were so wonderful with their sweet little boy. It was such a cold and windy day in Moorestown, New Jersey that the baby was shivering and just wanted to go back into the car. I suggested that they “play” with him instead of trying to make him look into the camera and the magic happened. He proceed to share his apples one at a time and paddle in the little canoe. It was so much fun to see him in motion! I love the interaction between parents and their children, moments not to be forgotten.

This wedding day was filled with laughter and fun joining two wonderful families. David who is an avid fisherman was so lucky to have caught Kim! The day started out cold but sunny so we were able to capture some beautiful outdoor winter images. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Hope in Blackwood, New Jersey and was so intimate being that the priest was the Bride’s cousin. Afterward we headed off to Tavistock Country Club which made for a beautiful photo backdrop since it was decorated for Christmas. Kim and David snuggled together for these images and you could see the love for each other. The reception was highlighted by a fantastic ballroom dance that impressed the audience. Kim is an accomplished ballroom dancer and David “the fisherman” took dance lessons to compliment his partner. Tony Weaver and I had so much fun capturing their party. Wishing them a very happy life together.

Coming from a large family of eight kids, I know the importance of capturing “the gang” all together. These two sisters reached out to me expressing that they wanted to give this family photography session as a present to their father who was celebrating his 70th birthday. What a precious gift… not just another shirt, tie or gift certificate but something with a very personal value. I can always remember the joy on my mother’s face when she saw that her eight children had secretly had a portrait created for her birthday. Although it was not a surprise gift for him, I hoped their dad would feel the same joy. We all met at Barclay Farmstead in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and they shared laughs and hugs through out the whole photo shoot. You could see the love they had for each other. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your celebration!!!
